Your my best friend for life.

I dont remember when I first met my best friend because she has ALWAYS been my best friend. We dont have a  cute cliche meeting story in fact my first memory of our friendship was us dressed up in tutus and me whacking her over the head with a wand just so that her tiara was adjusted. I imagine that this is the same relationship art has with fashion, the two are inseparable, jealous and most importantly lost without each other. I had this epiphany whilst sorting through my haul  from London Fashion week, everything was full of artistic fashion photography, fashion illustrations right down to the words in the articles.
Obviously the bond between fashion and art is not news to anyone's ears, Yayoi Kusama and Louis Vuitton  have quite firmly put artistic and fashion collaborations on the map and fashion photography is described as ' the dreamlike aspect of photography'.  Fashion is art especially when you take into consideration that a designers sketch is a vision in a drawing.
So that is it, fashion and art evil twin sisters forever and I could talk about this for a whole post but I have a more personal twist on this...
My relationship with art is a funny one- I love it. I love art exhibits, I love learning about artists and photography is something I like to think of myself as quite good at but when it comes to drawing and painting ITS A TRADGEDY. Its especially sad as when I was younger i'd spend hours doodling drawings to match my elaborate stories that i'd spend hours writing, but alas I will never be an artist- photographer? fashion obsessive? journalist? maybe but artist? never.  A while ago I had a go at designing and that turned out to be a success (thank god) as what fashion loving, ambitious career choosing girl hasn't had a dwindle in the fashion designers world. But this still doesn't subtract from the state of my artistic talents. So as a half apology half creative spur and the habit of always carrying a camera I created my 'wall'
My wall is a shrine to my love of fashion and photography. Its just one wall filled with Prada, photos, friends and family. Like a moodboard on a major scale. When I wake up in the morning just wanting to snuggle back under the duvets I just look up at my wall and see the faces of 30 supermodels staring down at me telling me that if I dont get to algebra i'll never get the chance to write about them in Vogue

So as I embrace fashion and hold it with a certain possessiveness I also embrace art in my own way through the eye of a camera, the way I wear my clothes an the extravagant way my eyeliner points out like daggers at the end of my eyes.
As if you needed more proof that fashion and art are BFFLZ.
